## 01/04 OPT Industries NP Swab Second Iteration
Jifei gave me this morning 5 elements of the second design iteration. The curing cycle of the resin has been changed in order to provide to the swab a little more bending stiffness.

After watch 10 test of this elements, it can be seen that there is a linear part of the test that represent the stiffness of the beam but suddenly, in all samples, the slope changes and it represent the compression of the tip of the swab.
The elements 6,7,8,9, and 10 can be seen that the resin cycle has affect slightly to an increment of stiffness. From a 0.125 N mean value of the 5 first elements, the next 5 elements shows a mean value before the commented slope of 0,164 N.
### Tip Compression Test.
For this new test developed today, the tip of the swab will be compressed. To be able to modify the behavior of the tip is essential to generate a swab able to be introduced in sensible areas as the nose is.
The samples provided are:

The two OCT samples were tested as well as the 4 cotton tips of the cot1 and cot2 elements.

Can be seen that the compression is very linear and in both elements, under a compresion of 1.3mm the value is 8N.
For the cotton tips, results are interesting.

As cotton cant ensure a fixed geometry, the results has a biggest deviation. Also, as we are accumulating mass when compressing, the grow of the force seems more likely as an exponential. OCT design doesn't behave the same due to its internally hollow.
