Approval for faceshield production?
Hi,
Do we have an approval process set up yet with MIT? I understand the need to do things properly, but I also cannot overstate the urgency here. Many lives are at stake and PPE can help save them.
I just saw that "Tufts Medicine has reached out to the City of Boston for an urgent request for 3D printers to create face shields" and the Mayor's office has reached out to MIT asking for help on this. Separately, I have a doctor friend in NYC....which is facing a worse outbreak than that in Wuhan....he is getting called to the front lines. He is asking for any help on PPE. His hospital asked for quotes to make 3D printed face shields and got quoted $10-40 for one-time use shields which the hospital cannot afford, so they don't have anything.
Maybe we can have hospitals that we donate shields to sign an all-encompassing liability waiver to protect MIT?
